Stumbling Across Mary

RED TREES

Mary Exline / Virginia

Kinda ironical, I just stumbled onto Mary's work on the internet the other day and though I live in Los Angeles now, I'm from and grew up in Arlington Virginia, close to where Mary lives and works.  Funny life!

I fell in love with her "Rock Creek Winter Reflections" (below).  It's beautiful and it makes me feel beautiful.   I spent a lot of time at beautiful rock creek, which winds through Washington, DC and Maryland. Rock Creek parkway is so beautiful.

The colors Mary uses in it and in all her work, are magic!  In "Rock Creek Winter Reflections" I can smell the trees and water when I look at it.  Also below is beautiful Potomac River and DC canal titled "One Sunday Afternoon".  There are so many beautiful views from these places and I have so many wonderful memories there by myself , with my son and others.

I truly always appreciated the beauty in Northern Virginia and Washington DC and its so exciting to stumble across Mary.  Thank you Mary!

Please visit her site to see more and purchase her amazing work!

"My goal is to communicate the emotions of the abstract through representational painting. The challenge is to take the viewer beyond the subject depicted and bring them into an emotional response to the elements of shape, form, texture, value and color expressed through heavy layers of textured paint and glazes to connote movement and a spirit of spontaneity."-Mary Exline
